DESCRIPTION

Hatch Gasket Material for Round Incite Hatches 7QR and 10QR (gasket material only) is cut to length and once installed will keep your boat's Incite hatch by Anchor Hatches watertight.

Easy Installation.

  • Measure for the length of gasket you need.
  • Round up to the next whole foot.
  • Order that amount.
  • Cut to size once your gasket arrives.
  • Glue ends together using a drop Loctite 495 on each end.
  • Gasket will fit shug in the frame and needs no other adhesive.

Being subjected to expected use, and over time, the gasket on our hatches eventually takes a toll and doesn’t perform like when it was new.

If you are changing the gasket yourself, make sure the old gasket is removed, along with the old adhesive. You can use a small handheld propane torch to warm it up a bit to allow for the old adhesive to soften. Make sure it’s not warmed up too much with the torch, or that the flame is too concentrated .

You’ll notice the moisture moving away from the edge. The hatch cover should be at least 80 degrees F for the new gasket adhesive to adhere (little bit more than room temperature). A plastic scraper can be used to remove the bulk of the old gasket. A screwdriver or metal scraper would not be recommended to remove the adhesive, as it may gouge the hatch and the anodized coating. The new gasket should also be warm, at least to room temperature, for the adhesive to work well. Lastly we normally use an adhesive to glue the two joining pieces to assure a good seal.

1.The gasket material provided is of highest quality. For best results, before the start of the season, and at the end of the season, ensure the gasket is lubricated using a petroleum based product.

The gasket material is specially manufactured for and by Anchor Hatches to handle the clamping pressure, and maintain the correct spacing between the hatch and the frame.

2. In the event of you having to replace the gasket, ensure that all the adhesive material has been removed from the hatch using a plastic scraper. A metal scraper may scratch the Anodized coating, and cause problems with gasket adhesion. This may also lead to premature corrosion.
